Engineering firm Motus Consult builds from Calgary beginnings to national reach
July 17, 2025

We’re proud to share that Motus Consult was recently featured in the Calgary Herald article, “Engineering firm Motus Consult builds from Calgary beginnings to national reach.” The piece highlights our growth from a locally founded company in Calgary to one with offices in British Columbia, Alberta, and Ontario—supporting projects across the country. It’s a milestone we’re proud of, and a reflection of the technical leadership and client-first mindset that drive everything we do.

Motus was founded in 2019 by Brian Breukelman and Marty Deemter, built on the belief that engineering should be both technically rigorous and deeply collaborative. With expertise in both structural and building enclosure engineering, we bring a holistic, big-picture perspective to every project. This integrated approach helps us anticipate challenges early, guide smarter design decisions, and deliver durable, high-performance solutions that support long-term value for our clients.

Today, our team is trusted on projects ranging from tall buildings and multi-use developments to specialized work including wind studies, green roofs, and advanced glazing systems. While our national reach has expanded, our commitment to a big-picture mindset, client-focused solutions, and thoughtful design remains unchanged. Being recognized by the Calgary Herald is a meaningful moment in the Motus journey—but for us, it’s just the beginning.
